A lot of people who visit Charleston are looking for the best seafood in town. To be completely honest, while Charleston is a foodie town, it’s not really a seafood town. However, The Ordinary, an oyster bar on trendy upper King Street, serves some the freshest, most flavorful oysters and seafood in the area.
Situated in an old bank vault, The Ordinary lives up to the hype that has been surrounding it for the past few months. It boasts a New York atmosphere with lots of hustle and bustle, a charming waitstaff, and interesting dishes that are sure to satisfy.
Highlights of the menu include a razor clam dish special that you absolutely can’t miss (think the flavors of guacamole (cilantro, lime, etc.) with fresh razor clams mixed right in), oyster sliders, blue crab toast, and smoked oysters. Of course, the shellfish towers don’t look to shabby, either.
